Welcome to the Frederick
Symphony Orchestra's
2010-2011 Season!
Dear
FSO Friends,
Welcome to our 14th season!
We have a terrific line-up of great music and guest artists for you this year.
Back by popular demand, violinist Lisa Vaupel will perform Samuel Barber’s romantic Violin Concerto in October on a program that also features the World Premiere of Usonia by Maryland composer Jonathan Cohen.
Our holiday concerts break the mold this season with an eclectic program based on more contemplative themes while the Young Artist Showcase in March features the winner of this year’s competition for piano along with music by Brahms and Schumann.
We are very fortunate to have the brilliant pianist Jeffrey Chappell performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the orchestra in May on a program with Shostakovich’s epic Symphony No. 5, and our June pops concert features heroic music from three centuries.
Enjoy the show!
