Dear FSO Friends,

Welcome to our 15th season!

We have a terrific line-up of great music and guest artists for you this year. We kick off the year by celebrating the 200th birthday of Franz Liszt on the actual date, October 22nd (1811), in grand style with brilliant local pianist John Wickelgren performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.2 and Totentanz.

In December we feature FSO’s mighty horn section in Schumann’s Concertpiece for Four Horns among other holiday favorites.

The program for March features the winner of our Young Artist Competition for Strings along with music of Prokofiev and Beethoven. FSO Concertmaster James Tung performs the cinematic Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto in May along with music concerning other star-crossed lovers by Glinka, Mahler, and Tchaikovsky and we round out the season with an enjoyable pops concert concerning “The Great Outdoors” conducted by Assistant Conductor William Spencer.

Enjoy the show!
